Bless the Lord Oh My Soul And All That Is Within Me Bless His Holy Name

January 17th, 2009

What promise is greater to those in trouble than Psalm 103. Here are the first five verses:

103:1 A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

He satisfies your mouth with good things. Those are your needs satisfied on the material plane. If we lack we can feel so oppressed and beaten down, but God satisfies those things if we look toward him.

Likewise he heals all your diseases, forgives you, and crowns your life with loving kindness and tender mercies. Even before your need is satisfied He is there with you letting you know that it’s going to work out – loving kindness and tender mercies. Expect Him, expect that he will calm you, that he will help you with whatever it is that you may face.

You’ll feel His presence first and a knowing – expect that, give thanks for it. When it comes give thanks again and then move through your troubles into the light of His blessing. He wants to bless you everyday.
