What faith did you subscribe to before you became agnostic/atheist?

Many of the questions you see on this site come from Yahoo Answers. Here is a question from a person who has lost his faith.
Just curious. I think most of us non believers got that way by having faith, studying the word, and doin the faith dance. Study and experience led us to conclude it was silly, a waste of time. Do share.
Often when people have a crisis of faith they turn their back quickly on the religion they were in. Others experience a slow erosion of faith as they stop attending to it.
I believe this question has to do with religion vs faith. Faith is internal, there is no “religious” dance to do. There is no external requirement to “study the word” and all the rest implied by the question. That faith leads you to certain things in undeniable but it is not keeping up with the latest at Church. Religion on the other hand can have you doing dances, but the best religions bring you to a state of faith if your heart is seeking God.
As to study and experience making one wiser and leading one to stop Church, you can indoctrinate yourself into believing that beetles are sacred or any number of other obscure things. A decade ago a group committed mass suicide because they believed it was a way to catch the flying saucer that was coming to get them. Study led them to that conclusion.
